I apologize for yet another potato post, but I couldn’t resist sharing this one with you, which I stumbled across while doing more research into the Prince Albert. The Andean potato in the photo is called Papa Llunchuy Waqachi. The translation is: “potato that makes the daughter-in-law weep”. The story goes that if the bride-to-be does a good job of peeling this potato, she is allowed to marry her man.
