Boadilla del Camino to Carrion de los Condes – Part 1

Walked today: 26.7 kilometres
Travelled so far: 378.8 kilometres

It was another hot day on the meseta, with temperatures again into the high 20s. One of the things that kept me entertained today was seeing some architecturally-fascinating ant homes. Certainly Spanish ants, at least in this part of the country, seem far more creative in their home building than their North American counterparts. Check out the photos:

Spanish ants have style.
Luxury apartments

Birds also provided a source of entertainment today, or at least Moya talking about birds. Did you know that a group of crows is referred to as a murder of crows? And that the correct term for a group of owls is a parliament of owls? And my favourite – a exaltation of larks. Amazing what one learns on the Camino!

Resting among a clump of red poppies.
Rows and rows of trees
Hole in a dirt wall
The name of this tree escapes me...can anyone help me out? These grow all across northern Spain (I saw them in southern France too).
